The Classroom Crisis

The Challenge in Today’s Schools

Educational outcomes are at historic lows and schools are facing overlapping challenges that affect both students and educators. Classrooms aren’t just academic spaces—they’re emotional ecosystems. Every educator brings their own life experience into the room. So does every student.

Educators are burning out at historic rates
Students are struggling with self-regulation, motivation, literacy and overall well-being—emotional, physical, intellectual, cultural, and social health
Administrators are managing behavior more than academic outcomes

When educators and students carry unseen stress, it shows up in burnout, behavior, and disengagement. Collectively, these challenges constitute a drastic crisis in which students lack adequate literacy, life skills, and wellness support to thrive, while educators are also contending with unaddressed adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), burnout and increasing attrition rates.
